 August R. Fetcko, founder of August Appraisers, an appraisal and estate sale company founded over 35 years ago, is a nationally recognized authority on antiques, collectibles, auctions, estate sales, and the business aspects of the antiques industry. His creative and informative seminars, workshops, lectures, classes and other educational events have attracted over 10,000 individuals who want to learn how to profit from the past. The author of five books, learning programs and numerous articles on antiques and collectibles, he is a consultant to various media companies who consult him with questions germane to estate sales, auctions and the antiques business as a whole. He and his work in the antiques field have been featured in numerous articles in both local and national publications. Prior to engaging in various entrepreneurial endeavors, Fetcko served in administrative and teaching positions at Penn State and Edinboro University and was a highly successful high school educator and coach. His seminar clients have included North Carolina State University, Vanderbilt University, the University of Massachusetts, Chautauqua Institution and many additional colleges, universities, civic organizations and museums. A native of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, he received his education at California State University, West Virginia University and Duquesne University.
